About Me

Here\’s what there is to know about me, Caleb Fast!

Aloha, y’all!

My name is Caleb Fast and, yes, my last name really is Fast. But, odds are you didn’t come all this way to only read that.

What you came here for was to learn a little bit more about this awesome science fiction author who has an amazing last name. …Unless you stumbled across this site by accident or you’re a bookaholic like me and you’re poking around for a new author.

Caleb Fast is a 25-year-old science fiction author who (like a lot of sci-fi authors, it seems) resides in the Pacific Northwest. My family has lived in the beautiful Northwest for generations–in fact, a lot of us arrived on covered wagons. Suffice to say, I know my way around here!

I’ve done a lot over the years. I’ve journeyed from Louisiana to Hawai’i on various business trips, learning all I can the whole way along. I’ve volunteered with a local Search and Rescue chapter, been a mechanic, done factory work, delivery, I’ve even been a garbage man. I get around. (I also run a few odd businesses of my own, including an antique bookstore, which is a ton of fun.)

I\’m a bit of a Jack-of-All-Trades after lending quite a few years to learning everything I can about everything I can! Want a welder? I got you. Carpenter? I’m your man. Tailor? Well, I’m not a master by any definition, but I can lay down some great stitches!

I’ve always been a voracious reader and an active writer. I love the written word. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been writing stories. Some a long, some short, some sweet, others not. I have all of my reading to thank for my writing abilities.

One of the earliest real books I read that I can remember reading is A Journey to the Center of the Earth. Shortly thereafter I read War of the Worlds and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. I devoured these three books and quickly learned they were all part of an amazing genre called science fiction. Thanks to the works of H.G. Wells and Jules Verne, I became a voracious science fiction reader.

Now, all these books later, I’ve gone on to publish works of my own that I hope might inspire another kid to get hooked on this amazing genre. After all, that\’s a legacy worth passing on because science fiction has a lot to offer the world.
