THERE IS AN OLD TRADITION
among the Toa People. This is the glory hunt that takes place in honor of a fallen warrior. All the prizes taken during this hunt are burned in a funeral pyre alongside the Toaz warrior that was slain. Matthew is the sole human taking part in this age-old tradition. Seeing as how he is the one who killed the Toaz that the hunt is honoring, he is understandably nervous. Will Matthew be able to make a name for himself among the Toa People?
WHY DID I WRITE IT?
The Battle for Allegra continues with Episode Three! I enjoyed writing The Hunt because it allowed me to expand on the cultures of the Toa People in a way I haven’t been able to so far. I also felt like I had freer reign to step away from introducing Matthew and focus more on him and the war. This episode is what you should be expecting from the rest of the serial from here on out. Matthew has a big challenge ahead of him in this episode, but it’s far from his last, because he’s still got an entire war to fight through!
