Kill or Be Killed.
Cliché? Yes. True? Even more so.
Matthew, a (forcibly) retired 20-year-old fisherman is about to get thrown into the meat grinder of war.
If that isn’t bad enough, he’s stuck on the frontlines while the rest of the Coalition’s army awaits a “master plan” that has yet to emerge. Even after over a month of aimless fighting.
Will Matthew survive his first day on the front, despite his obvious lack of training?
For years the Coalition figured that the only possible alien invasion would come from the Alexandrian Republic, not somewhere far beyond the reaches of their galactic empire. The Coalition wasn’t ready for an alien invasion, and civilians like Matthew are left to pick up the tab.
Join Matthew as he fights to save Allegra!

From the Back Cover
MATTHEW HAS TO PROVE HIMSELF.
The Mudders on the frontlines are facing insurmountable odds every day as the Beets continue testing their defenses. Daily, hundreds of Mudders are killed in the Bulwark alone. Newcomers, like Matthew, have to prove their worth by killing a Beet on their own. The problem with this is that it can be a lot easier said than done. Will Matthew be able to survive his first hunt, or will he join the ranks of the scores of dead soldiers who litter the battlefield?
WHY DID I WRITE IT?
The Battle for Allegra continues with Episode Two! This one was exciting for me to write because I got all the nitty-gritties out of the way in Episode One. This episode is a lot more like what I aim to shoot for in the rest of the series. Matthew has a big challenge ahead of him in this episode, but it’s far from his last, because he’s got an entire war to fight through!
